St.James Dental has been serving the local community since 1985, when David Mathewson took over a small, part-time dental practice on the corner of The Hollygrove. As Quedgeley, Hardwicke and the surrounding areas developed, the practice also had to expand in order to meet the ever-growing needs of the community.
David moved to the custom-built premises of St.James Dental in 1992, where the practice went from strength to strength and underwent significant expansion in 2000, more than doubling in size.
Oliver Stew and Alexandra Mathewson (David’s son-in-law and daughter) moved to the practice in 2012 to work as associate dentists and, in 2015, David stepped down from clinical practice after 30 years at St.James Dental. Management of the practice continues under the leadership of his two daughters, Alexandra and Alana, and son-in-law, Ollie.
St.James Dental has long been established as a family practice that is passionate about quality, standards, and patient care. This is reflected in our core values:
The practice has always upheld an extensive on-going programme that ensures all facilities and equipment are maintained and updated to the highest standards.
Over the years, St.James Dental, with its team of professionals, has gained the trust and loyalty of the local community, a huge privilege and responsibility. That respect is never taken for granted and the practice continues to work every day to maintain and reinforce that trust. We place the same trust and loyalty in all our team, so that together we can continue supporting the local community and improving both the general and dental health of the patients we care for.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful, it doesn’t feel like a dental surgery, starting at reception through to the dentist and dental nurses. Every part of the procedure is explained so you know exactly what to expect. If anyone is looking for a new dentist give St. James Dental a call, you will not be disappointed.
