It is quite common for young people to need orthodontic treatment, as straightening the teeth helps them to better take care of their teeth and gums. Typically, most patients are suitable for treatment from around 12 or 13 years old, with many different orthodontic issues able to be addressed.
Alana has experience in specialist orthodontic and hospital-based practices. Her philosophy is to develop a relationship of mutual trust with her patients by providing gentle pain-free treatment. She is willing to spend tie with you to explain in detail what is involved.
Your dentist will keep an eye on your child’s teeth during their regular check up appointments, and be able to refer them for orthodontic treatment at the most appropriate time, if necessary. Sometimes, it is clear your child would benefit from treatment, as you may be able to see large gaps or misaligned teeth, but in other cases it may be more subtle. At St.James Dental, we are happy to discuss all treatment options with you and your child, and ensure they have the best foundation for healthy teeth for life.
