Worn or broken down teeth?

Teeth naturally wear with age; however, some people grind their teeth in their sleep, consume excess acid in their diet, suffer from certain health issues or can be over enthusiastic with tooth brushing. This can lead to far more tooth surface loss than average.

Tooth wear can leave you feeling self-conscious about your smile as your teeth shorten. It can age your face with the loss of face height and lip support. It can cause severe sensitivity meaning sufferers often cannot eat or drink what they want to; in particular, cold drinks and the sensitivity can even make cleaning your teeth uncomfortable. Your teeth can weaken especially those with fillings in them, resulting in continual breakages and potential tooth loss.

Smile with confidence

  • Have your teeth worn down so they look shorter than they used to?
  • Do you feel that your teeth don’t ‘show’ when you smile as they did when you were younger?
  • Do you continually break and chip teeth and fillings so that your teeth feel sharp?
  • Are your teeth terribly sensitive?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes then you are probably suffering from excessive tooth wear – an increasing problem for today’s adults.

However, there is a solution …

Modern advances in adhesive dentistry have improved tremendously over the last few years. A combination of composite resin and adhesive porcelain allows us to restore your teeth with only very minimal removal of a sound tooth. The bonding is so powerful they can be even stronger than natural teeth. Their appearance is now so natural, they can rejuvenate a prematurely ageing smile by restoring face height, tooth length and lip support, giving you the confidence to smile and speak again

Sometimes a combination of implants and orthodontics is required and at St.James Dental we have an experienced team equipped to provide all of these services so we can work as a team to provide you with a fully coordinated approach both during and after your treatment. Our hygienists are also very experienced in the maintenance of these restorations ensuring that they last as long as possible.
