Job description

We are looking for a Patient Advisor to join our busy reception team. This role requires excellent communication skills. The candidate should also be well organised, friendly and professional.

By carrying out the main reception tasks/duties, our patient advisors must ensure that the practice operates smoothly on a daily basis by way of maintaining the computerised appointment book and all other procedures accurately and effectively.

Carry out all other reception duties and tasks to high standards to maintain a high level of service at all times.

Communicate daily with dentists to ensure they are able to provide the best possible service to patients.

Dental reception experience preferred but full training will be given.

Duties Will Include:

  • Greeting patients in a professional, helpful and courteous manner
  • Checking patients in on arrival
  • Taking payments
  • Re-booking appointments as required
  • Observe patient confidentiality at all times and adhere to data protection regulations
  • Manage and respond to email enquiries
  • Scanning referral letters and other practice/patient correspondence
  • Stock control
  • Opening/closing reception area
  • Cashing up/reconciliation
  • Manage and process lab work as/when required
  • Attend/participate in practice/reception meetings
  • Be familiar with and comply with all Health and Safety rules and guidance
  • Attend refresher and update training for medical emergencies & CPR
  • Undergo training as may be required to develop your skills and abilities
  • Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct
  • Cover staff requirements as and when necessary, for example, holidays and in the event of any sickness
  • This role will include one evening until 7.15 pm and one Saturday morning per month

Apprentice Dental Nurse Opportunity

We are looking for a friendly hardworking team player to join us as an apprentice dental nurse, learning all aspects of working in a Dental environment whilst studying towards your Dental Nursing qualification.

You will be working towards your L3 Dental Nursing apprenticeship by assisting in a range of duties relevant to your studies. You will also be set aside time to complete your learning.

The role of a Dental Nurse is to assist the Dentist with all clinical aspects within the surgery.

Duties will include:

  • Caring for patients in a polite, caring and courteous manner
  • Provide chair-side assistance to the dentist or hygienist during dental procedures
  • Updating computer records and taking notes
  • Maintaining surgeries to a high level of cleanliness, adhering to strict cross infection protocols
  • Processing dental radiographs
  • Preparing instruments and materials in preparation for dental procedures
  • Working within our central sterilisation rooms, processing and sterilising instruments

This is a full time position 38 hours per week, on a rota basis, hours will include one or two evenings until 7.15 pm and one Saturday per month.
4 weeks holiday plus bank holidays pro-rata.
